Techstination feature for Thursday, February 2, 2017

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.   Wearable tech to help couples conceive.    It is a bracelet called Ava that uses a variety of sensors to let couples who are trying to get pregnant, know when the time is right.  Founder and CEO Lea von Bidder says it is worn during the night and…

“We detect the hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle and are able to give women a much easier and more reliable method for tracking their fertile days and also detect the window much earlier than with any other method.”

Ava is being launched initially in Europe but should be available to U.S. consumers this summer.  For now at least, it is not designed to help couples seeking to avoid pregnancy.  It is lightweight,  is worn on the wrist and will sell for about two hundred dollars.  There’s more at AvaWomen.com.
