Driverless cars better sooner than later: Princeton's Alain Kornhauser

Techstination feature for Friday, February 3, 2017

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.   Driverless cars…better sooner than later.    You’ve been hearing about autonomous vehicles…or driverless cars…for years now.    As the kids in the back seat like to say…are we there yet?    And the answer…in typical parental fashion…is almost.   At Princeton University, the faculty chair of autonomous vehicle engineering, Professor Alain Kornhauser…says vehicle makers have much of the technology in place.  But which companies will…forgive the pun…drive it forward?   Kornhauser says maybe Uber.  Or…

“It could well be Amazon. I guess if you ask me it’s easier to deliver packages using a driverless vehicle.”

And he says it really is coming…sooner rather than later.  Driverless means safety…and there are many economic incentives that go with that.

You can find us at Techstination.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
