Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. VTech is updating its Kidizoom tech toy line for kids. The Kidizoom SmartWatch DX2 will add a front facing camera for selfies. It also features, games a motion sensor and the new slimmer size should be more comfortable for kids. It will arrive in the fall for under 60 dollars. There’s also an updated Kidizoom Action Cam coming for about 50 dollars. VP Jennifer Eiselein…
“For this, we really did change the form factor. It’s a lot more camera like in its shape. So it’s thinner and wider so it has that ease of movement. But the great new feature here is the rotating camera. So you can see it right now, it’s in selfie mode. You can flip it over and if you’re on your bike you’re now taking videos and photos of what’s in front of you instead of of yourself.”
It’s both rugged and waterproof. There’s also a new smart phone like device on the way that will let kids communicate via WiFi with friends and family.
