Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. It’s small, features a clever magnetic windshield mount…and has some surprising features. The new Garmin Dashcam 45 and 55 models….record high quality video… and are designed to keep you safe. They feature forward collision and lane departure warnings. What I found surprising was a feature that lets you know that traffic is moving in front of you …if you happen to be turned away while sitting at a red light. Garmin’s Cesar Palacios says the cameras also have built in Wi-Fi to let you wirelessly sync videos to your phone using an app. The higher end DashCam 55…also can respond to your voice…
“For example you’ll be able to tell it, okay Garmin, save video, take a picture, start and stop audio recording.”
The DashCam 55 sells for about 200 dollars. The model 45 is 50 dollars less.
