Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. More and more cameras designed for taking virtual reality videos and photos have been coming to market. One of the more interesting models that we’ve seen is the LucidCam. It’s a compact oval shaped camera with two 180 degree bulging lenses on the front. There’s no screen on the back. You pair it with your phone to see what you are shooting and transfer the files. It is fun and pretty simple to use and the results can be viewed with pretty much any type of VR viewer. LucidVR CEO Han Jin…
“So imagine you have the same experience like a digital camera, but instead of capturing a 16 by 9 frame, you are capturing 180 by 180 at a resolution of 4K per eye.”
It arrives next month for about 425 dollars. The company…at www.lucidcam.com is selling head and chest mounts for the camera as well.
