Pai Technology's coding teaching robot Augie

Techstination feature for Thursday, October 26, 2017

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    A little robot to help kids learn to code.    Pai Technology…spelled P a I, is out with Augie…a spherical robot with an animated screen.   The company’s  Amy Braun says it designed to adapt to kids from those in kindergarten….through grade six…

“We can actually begin to code Augie through a whole different host of commands.  So I can tell him to turn right and I can actually tell him to turn right the degree that I want him to turn.  I can come to his display and I can customize his screen.  I can write what I want to write and I can change the color on it.  But what’s really cool is, we don’t expect kids to know Blockly, we actually teach it to them.”

Kids…and many parents…will also think it’s cool that the app for Augie features augmented reality.    Pai Technology’s Augie is smart, fun and sells for about two hundred dollars.
