Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    Okay….so maybe around the holidays…you aren’t focused so much on healthy eating and exercise.   Well maybe your life insurance company is.    John Hancock is making the Apple Watch Series 3 available to its Vitality Life Insurance plan holders for a a 25 dollar sign up fee.    The catch is….those policy holders have to share their stats with the company and maintain fitness goals to avoid having to pay more for the watch.   Senior VP Brooks Tingle says the program is now open to all policy holders, regardless of the policy amount or type…and your activity level determines how much you pay each month…

“You  earn points for hitting the threshold of ten thousand steps a day.  You earn more points for hitting fifteen thousand steps a day.”

From the insurance company’s point of view…getting policy holders to be more healthy makes good business sense.
