Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. Once again at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show….there was a lot of focus on the next generation TVs. You knew when you bought that 4K TV…that it would be outdated soon. LG showed off its ThinQ artificial intelligence and Alpha 9 picture processor. Marketing head Tim Alessi says it reduces picture noise and adds depth…
“So this will actually separate objects in the foreground and background. And finally, color. When it comes to color, OLEDs already can display over one billion colors, but there’s a reference table internal to the TV, called a look up table. This has been increased by over 700 percent.”
And of course manufacturers are going beyond 4K….touting even higher resolutions to come.
