Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. A group of scientists at MIT is coming to market with a wristband designed to provide warmth in the cold…and help you feel cooler in the heat. It is called Embr Wave and co-founder Sam Shames says the idea is simple…
“It’s like putting an ice cube on your wrist or wrapping your hands around a hot drink in that we’ve shown that just warming and cooling one spot on the body can help make you more comfortable overall even without changing your core temperature.”
The band has a touch interface on the surface that lets you control whether it is in the heating or cooling mode. It turns itself off after a few minutes. It is amazing how quickly it works…especially when it comes to providing warmth. It will sell for about three hundred dollars…and is available for pre order at embrlabs.com.
