Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.     Samsung is making  smartphones work seamlessly with the family  room TV.     I’ve been checking out a Samsung Ultra High Definition 55 inch  TV.   Perhaps even more impressive than the vibrant picture quality….was that once the TV was connected to my WiFi network…a Galaxy S9 phone in the household instantly knew it was there.   And the phone made the TV setup even easier using the company’s upgraded SmartThings app.   Beyond that…the TV, on its own, was able to recognize which devices were plugged into its HDMI ports and labelled them correctly.    And Samsung’s Scott Cohen points out that enables the voice controlled remote…

“We can control the guide and the DVR as well.   This is really cool stuff.    When you want to quickly switch to your streaming services, you have the same remote control in all of that.”

It’s easy and intuitive.
