Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    With all of the gadgets that need charging around the house…via USB….finding a place to plug those chargers in can be a problem.   A company called SnapPower is out with a clever solution that adds full power USB charging to an outlet faceplate.   It’s called the USB Power 2 and the installation takes seconds.   Principal electrical engineer Scott Owen says turn the power to the outlet off…. 

“Yeah, that’ll be the safest way to do it is to go find a breaker.   You unscrew one screw in the center for a duplex outlet.  The new plate kind of just slides on, and you put the screw back in.”

That simple.   It gives you two full power USB ports without interfering with the two outlets.  The USB Power 2 sells for about 20 dollars at SnapPower.com.
