Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.         First responders and law enforcement agencies are relying more and more on drones to save lives.   DJI has been collecting data that shows just how valuable a tool they are becoming…and not just focusing the drones they manufacture.    DJI’s Adam Lisberg says in a single day…for instance…at the end of last month…they were used to rescue four people in three separate incidents…including a mother and daughter trapped by rising water in Texas Hill County…

“ The Hill County Emergency Management Office happened to have a drone…and you can see video again linked through our Web site…of that drone flying off with a life preserver and dropping it to the two of them so that they could stay afloat while rescuers got to them on boats.”

Drones equipped with thermal cameras can often find people who are lost as well…much more quickly…and at lower cost.
