Start-ups win hearts at CTA

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.       The Consumer Technology Association works with companies big and small….but start-ups have a special place in the organization’s heart.    The CTA’s  Elliot Grimm says start-ups can generate a lot of excitement…often through crowd funding of ideas that are just plain cool.    Sometimes they make it onto Shark Tank….like BenjiLock…a rechargeable padlock that uses your fingerprint to open.   Lifefuels makes a smart water bottle that encourages you to drink more.   Water…I presume.    And then there’s Modobag…

“This is luggage that you can use at the airport on an airplane when you travel.  But it converts into a motorized scooter that you can ride around.”

At up to 7 miles an hour.    And Modobag says the battery can last for up to six hours.
