Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    With the unveiling of the new Pixel 3 phones, Pixel Slate Tablet,  Pixel Book notebook…and the new  Home Hub digital assistant…Google is taking on the likes of Apple and Amazon when it comes to devices.   And the integration with the company’s Nest line of thermostats, doorbell, smoke and fire detectors and cameras…helps to make Google even more formidable.   At the company’s event this month in New York, Senior VP Rick Osterloh put it this way…

“We’re taking an end to end approach to consumer technology that merges our most innovative AI with intuitive software and powerful hardware.  Made by Google devices empower people to do more with their day so they have to do less with their tech.”

The camera innovations in the Pixel 3 phones look especially impressive.  Stay tuned for more.
