IOGEAR offers docking solutions for port starved notebooks

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.   Chances are, if you have a pretty new notebook computer, you’re wondering where did all the ports go.   In an effort to make the machines thinner and lighter than ever…computer makers have …in many cases…eliminated ethernet, memory card and standard USB ports.    That has opened the door for accessory makers to fill the void.   At ioGear,  product manager Richard Liang says the company makes a full range of USB C docking stations…

“You can basically expand the capability of your USB C or Thunderbolt laptop.   You can connect to an additional HDMI monitor, you can connect to additional USB devices and also not to lose the ethernet capability.”

Some models are designed for travel as well and don’t need a separate power supply.
