Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.        The music instrument industry’s big annual NAMM gathering brought more innovations from the biggest name in the business…Yamaha.  It made dozens of announcements, including a  new keytar….a wearable keyboard…called the Sonogenic SHS-500.   It even allows novices to play along with their favorite tunes without having to worry about playing a wrong note.  Yamaha America President Tom Sumner…says pretty much all  you need to do is keep time..

“You can get the timing right but it literally won’t let you play a wrong note.  So you can pound it like a bongo and it will still play all the right notes for you.”

The Yamaha Sonogenic SHS 500 is priced at about 300 dollars.  How much fun?    Lots.  And you can get serious about playing too.  There’s  more info at www.usa.yamaha.com.
