Iomega's Digital Picture Sharing Solution... FotoShow

Techstination feature for Tuesday, October 31, 2000

A new way to share digital pictures. I'm Fred Fishkin with Bloomberg Bootcamp. It's the latest device from Iomega. FotoShow... .

"FotoShow is a clever way of looking at your digital pictures that you've taken with a digital camera on your television set in your living room. And it's unique in that regard. There's really nothing else like it."

Iomega's General Manager of New Products Paul Jacobs. FotoShow combines a portable 250 megabyte Zip drive... with slots for CompactFlash or SmartMedia memory cards... the most common kinds built into digital cameras. Then it connects directly to your TV... .no computer necessary. Many cameras can connect directly to a TV too... .but FotoShow lets you do more...

"You have an infrared remote, so you can actually sit down on your couch and scan through the pictures with a remote. And it does a lot of things with the pictures that you can't do with a camera when you attach it to your TV. So it actually makes it a really engaging experience and a great way to see your pictures."

On the largest screen in the house. Built in editing software lets you rotate or crop or zoom in on an image... .and save the pictures to a Zip disk freeing up precious space on those memory cards. Of course... you can use the whole set up with your PC or Mac. The suggested price is under three hundred dollars.
