Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.        These days Gavin Hardcastle is a well known fine art photographer and instructor based in British Columbia.     His enthusiasm and energy are contagious and fun.   I got to spend time with him at the Out of Oregon photography conference run by Out of Chicago.   But Gavin picked up photography as a second career…leaving behind a successful career producing music..

“I used to have to write music on command.   It was something I would have to do as my job.  When it is not necessarily something that you are doing because you love it anymore..it is something you are doing because there’s an expectation of you…you kind of lose the love for it.  And so for me I started to lose my love for music creation just at the same time my love for photography was starting to build up.”
