Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.   Philips Hue has helped to pioneer smart home lighting….and has been growing the line up.    Now the company is out with what it calls the Smart Button….an affordable…20 dollar accessory…that adds more convenience to Hue smart lighting.  Marketing head Mike Deschamps says the Smart Button has a built in battery..

“So you don’t need to do any hard wiring or installation.  And from a single button press you can turn a group of lights or actually your entire system on or off.   But what it allows you to do too is have some unique  presses that can do different things.  Meaning if you actually press it twice you can have your lights turn a different scene or if you actually press and hold, you can have your lights dim.”

If you have Philips Hue bulbs…the Smart Button is a welcome addition.
