Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.     A Bluetooth tracking device that can call for help.     Silent Beacon is a clip on wearable that pairs with a phone app…that once set up can call 9 1 1 with the push of a button….or send a text or email for help that includes your GPS coordinates.  CEO Kenny Kelley says it works without the need for monthly fees even though there is a 24 hour call center option.   How did it come about?

“So I was involved in a motorcycle accident, I was on the side of the highway..I didn’t know where I was and I couldn’t reach my phone.  I was just thinking, gee we have all this technology inside our phone that can go out there and tell everyone where we are…if there was just one button you could press that would do everything for you at once.”
