ESA launches Game Generation campaign

Techstination feature for Wednesday, February 19, 2020

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.       Who plays video games?   It turns out an awful lot of us.   The Entertainment Software Association has launched a campaign called Gaming Generation….but CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis says …that generation pretty much includes us all..

“There is a game for everyone and that’s what really fueled the expansion of our industry.  Right now there are just as many people playing video games who are over fifty as there are under eighteen.  The average age is thirty three and forty six percent of gamers are women.  So we really are a microcosm of our country and how it plays and works together.”

And the ESA says its survey found 73 percent of parents believe games are beneficial to educational development of their children.  My take…it really depends on the games being played.
