BrainHQ app aims to help cognitive function

Techstination feature for Wednesday, April 22, 2020

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.        BrainHQ is the name of an app designed by Posit Science to help users improve cognitive function.   And the company says research from the University of Rochester…recently published…shows real benefits in pre dementia patients.   And while the app may be of most benefit to seniors…it can be helpful for younger users as well.   CEO Dr. Henry Mahncke…

“Doing the exercises is a little bit like doing a certain kind of video game, one might say, but one that’s designed specifically to make your brain faster and more accurate.   So for example, one of the key exercises, actually invented a number of years ago, and what it’s designed to do is improve the speed of your divided attention.”

There is some real science behind the app.   We’re giving it a test…and will get back to you on the progress.
