Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. How can technology be used to help people get back to work while protecting privacy? MIT professor Alex Pentland has been working with the U.N. and many world leaders to come up with solutions…and says having people with antibodies become certified…with privacy guarded under medical guidelines is doable. In fact, that kind of system is working in some countries…such as South Korea…
“So what we’re working to do is make it so that people don’t have this sort of “big brother” data base around and then a lot of people are going to be immune to this, at least somewhat. Those are the people that ought to be in the front line. Those are the people, today, disproportionately, that are out of work.”
Professor Pentland says certifications could work much like the ApplePay or GooglePay apps on smartphones.
