Ancestry assisting at homes begin family tree research

Techstination feature for Monday, May 4, 2020

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.  In the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic….many people have taken a renewed interest in their lineage…reaching out to relatives…and learning more about their family histories.   At Ancestry…which has been assisting  with online resources for more than twenty years…they are helping by providing free access to nearly five hundred million national archive records….

“And that’s going to include things like World War I and World War II draft cards and the New York passenger lists.  There are several million records there of people coming in to Castle Gardens in the 1800s and then, of course, Ellis Island.”

Ancestry corporate genealogist Crista Cowan, who adds that the company is also opening up its free K through 12 educational resources to everyone.   I’m no expert…but have found that it is easy to get started with Ancestry…fascinating and fun.    The site is www.ancestry.com.

You can find us at Techstination.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
