Techstination feature for Friday, May 8, 2020

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.        With many people now searching for jobs….and students having more time to learn new skills…IBM has extended its online education resources for teachers, students and parents for free.     The initiative is called Open P-TECH…and it includes free digital learning for anyone.    Cliff Archey is Senior Program Manager of Education at IBM Corporate Citizenship…and says the courses are designed primarily for people 14 and up…

“They’re really about an understanding a knowledge of the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, as an example, of cloud computing…as another example.  And the list goes on an on but it’s a great way for students to get introduced to these fundamental technology concepts and the professional skills that we know every employer is looking for now and in the future.”
