"When you're not watching it you can tuck it up underneath the counter and slide it away, even hide it. Something you currently cannot do with any kind of a CRT television. So we've done that for the kitchen application, but we've also looked at applications in areas like the bathroom. Currently it's kind of hard to get a CRT television and fit it in your bathroom, so LCD is a natural. Be able to hang it on a wall. We've heard some of our consumers building it in a wall or even building it behind mirrors that are two way. So you can turn the television on, have the television shine through the mirror while you're watching it and then become a mirror again when you turn it off."
Pretty cool stuff... but not cheap. The ten inch model starts at about 13 hundred dollars. Another new innovation... Zenith is introducing TVs with built in Internet capability. The technology comes from TeleCruz where chairman Kris Narayan says for an extra hundred dollars per set... you've got the Net...
"We are making it very simple, easy to use proposition, that is priced appropriately to target the mass markets. And hopefully the service will be free."
