Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. Following a successful campaign on Indiegogo, a company called Hydro Wind Energy is bringing a device called Quench Sea to market. It is a device that weighs under two pounds and is capable of turning more than 2 liters per hour of sea water…into water that is drinkable. And even at just 70 dollars…the company is donating one for every one sold. Founder and CEO Lee King…says it uses reverse osmosis….and the filter is long lasting…and replaceable for just about ten dollars. And he hopes to bring the pricing down even more..
“Once we reach a hundred, two hundred thousand units the costs of producing Quench Sea are going to go drastically down. Even eighty or sixty dollars is still very expensive for the humanitarian sector.”
