EnergyX partners with Nobel prize winner on next gen battery tech

Techstination feature for Friday, October 16, 2020

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.     EnergyX is expanding its partnership with the University of Texas and Nobel prize winner Dr. John Goodenough …to develop lithium ion batteries that are safer and last longer.   Dr. Goodenough is 98 years old …and became the oldest Nobel winner last year for his work developing lithium ion batteries.    EnergyX CEO and Founder Teague Egan…says the technology is just getting started…for instance …with electric vehicles..

“That’s the next big transition,  but people are even looking at airplanes powered by batteries.   And we are trying to wean ourselves off of carbon emitting energy systems.”

Egan envisions vehicles able to travel over thousand miles on a charge…in five years…and the technology finding its way into many more homes and buildings.
