Making Music Videos...On the Web

Techstination feature for Tuesday, January 2, 2001

So all this time you've secretly wanted to be a music video producer. Once again, the Web comes to the rescue. I'm Fred Fishkin with Bloomberg Bootcamp. It doesn't take a lot of time... or a lot of learning and you don't even have to be under thirty. A site called GetMusic.com... .backed by music powerhouses BMG and Universal... lets you mix stills and video clips with music online... that you can share. GetMusic Executive VP Sandy Smallens...

"We think we've made it very simple. There's steps one through four on the screen explains exactly what you need to do, walks you through everything, picking the music, uploading your own stills or picking stills that are already there, picking animations and short video clips from the actual artist videos that they made for offline use."

Ready to get started?

"Step one, we select an audio track. For the purposes of this demonstration I think we'll select Everclear, very popular rock band. You can preview the track before you select it and once you select it it shows up in your media library..a little bin where it collects all of your media assets."

Then you can select still images or those video clips..and transitions.

"And the trick to try to see how you synchronize your clicking with the changes in music."

Okay, so maybe it helps to be under thirty. But your kids will be impressed if you try. Again the site... is GetMusic.com. Bootcamp, I'm Fred Fishkin, Bloomberg Radio.
