Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.        Designing augmented reality glasses to help assist those with macular degeneration and low vision to see.    That is what a company called Ocutrx has developed.   The company’s OcuLenz takes center focus objects and moves them to the peripheral vision areas…enabling them to be seen more clearly.   CEO Michael Freeman..says beyond that…they are smart and connected..

“So our headset is WiFi connected.  Our headset is cellular connected.   You can query, like you query Siri.   Ours has a different name, Simone, take on sim one.  You can query Simone and Simone can call your grandkids for you, call your neighbor.”

The potential uses in addition to the vision assistance are many.    Find more at www.oculenz.com.
