Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. This could be a very exciting and revealing year when it comes to the mysteries of the universe. If all goes well and according to plan, the James Webb Space Telescope…by mid year…should begin sending deep space images back to earth from its orbit around the sun…a million miles away. NASA astrophysicist and Operations Project Scientist Dr. Jane Rigby…
“We’re going to be studying how galaxies evolved over cosmic time since the first formed. And one of the big science goals for Webb is to find that first generation of galaxies that formed after the big bang. The light we’re seeing arriving now has been travelling through space from almost the whole history of the universe. ”
And the Webb telescope will also be looking for clues about where else in the universe there may be life.
