Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.     So what were the hot search trends on Google during the month of February?     While the situation in Ukraine was top of mind towards the end of the month, Google’s Sarah Armstrong says the Oscar nominations generated a lot of searches…

“Especially Oscar nomination snubs and surprises.  That was a breakout search.  And on the snub side, Lady Gaga’s snub had a little of interest.  I think people expected her to get nominated for House of Gucci.  And on surprises, Beyonce earned her first Oscar nomination.  That spiked over three thousand percent.  She was nominated for her song Be Alive from the movie King Richard.”

During the Olympic games, Shaun White, in his final games drew the most searches in the U.S..  And for Valentine’s Day…there were more searches for gifts for men…than there were for gifts for women.   Find more at www.google.com/trends.
