Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.   The Stargazer’s Atlas, The Ultimate Guide to the Night Sky is much more than a stunning coffee table book from National Geographic.   It is a guide and a history lesson.   There are observatories that date back centuries.   Author Andrew Fazekas has a contagious enthusiasm for astronomy …and says it doesn’t take a lot of money to be captivated by the night sky…

“You want to learn about where constellations are.  These big maps, pictures in the sky.   Connect the dots just using your eyes.  And those are the basic road maps.  Then you can graduate to binoculars, which are maybe a good pair would cost you anywhere from 75 to 200 dollars.  And then, a telescope.”

You’ll find the maps you need to get started in the National Geographic Stargazer’s Atlas.
