Musician Nenad Bach uses ping pong to battle Parkinson's

Techstination feature for Thursday, December 1, 2022

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.        Can ping pong help to rewire the brain to assist people with Parkinson’s?    Around the world,  many are saying yes.  And it started when musician and composer Nenad Bach…who has performed with the likes of U2 and Pavarotti…was diagnosed with Parkinson’s a dozen year ago…and then had to give up performing.   But an invitation to play ping pong change everything…and he is in the midst of recording a new album.   And he formed PingPongParkinson.org..

“We have witnesses that could not walk and they are walking now.  Who could not talk, or they talked so softly that nobody would understand them.  And they can talk now that people can understand them.”

Nenad Bach and the organization are pushing for serious scientific studies.  And in the meantime…he will keep playing.   Ping Pong…and his guitar.
