Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. The latest assessment from NASA is showing 2022 was the fifth warmest year on record. NASA Chief Scientist and Senior Climate Advisor Dr. Kate Calvin says the data shows the long term warming trend is continuing with the past nine years being the warmest since modern recordkeeping began in 1880. About the impact, Dr. Calvin says…
“We see increases in sea level which effects our coastal communities. We’re seeing changes in extreme events, we’re seeing more heavy precipitation events, more droughts, more heat waves, stronger storms and more wildfires and longer wildfire seasons. And these are affecting people all around the world.”
NASA and NOAA have added new satellite technology to monitor what is happening on the planet. For more…head to climate.nasa.gov.
