Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.        Digital health technology will be very prominent at this year’s CES…the big consumer electronics show taking place in Las Vegas this week.   It is put on by the Consumer Technology Association where health government affairs lead Catherine Pugh tells us one of the goals is to use technology to help close the gap found in a recent survey in meeting the healthcare needs of women..

“I think the biggest highlight is that two in three women believe digital health solutions are the future of healthcare and that the solutions can help lower healthcare costs.  And also, more than half of those surveyed believe that digital health solutions can help reduce healthcare disparities.”

The CTA has been among those advocating for new regulatory systems to enable more innovative healthcare.  We’ll be talking more about the some of the tech solutions in the weeks to come.
