"For the first time, we're providing to consumers direct access to the Corbis Collection. Heretofore, that's only been available if you were a creative professional. And many of the offerings, such as the electronic greetings or the experiential photo-journalistic pieces that we do are free."
They are for sale as well in digital or print formats. Digital picture packs include five images and sell for twelve dollars. Order prints and you can select mats and frames online as well. Part of Corbis is the new Ansel Adams web site... "We've put all of the iconic images up online. You can come in and see these images in a high quality environment. You can learn about Ansel's life. You can learn about some of the photographic techniques. And then, from there, we also provide you with a comprehensive store. We have the authorized Ansel Adams store."
The way Bill Gates and Corbis see the future, eventually we'll all just be buying digital rights to display pictures on flat screens.
