Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. Some innovation for the kitchen and beyond. Planetary Design is the name of a company that has designed a stainless steel French press coffeemaker called the Basecamp. It is available in 32 or 48 ounce sizes…enough to at least get you through the morning….and on into the afternoon…is beautifully crafted and comes in four different colors. Great at home…and rugged enough to take anywhere. We’re impressed. Pricing starts at 60 dollars and there’s more info at www.planetarydesign.com. And for those coffee grinds or other kitchen waste, Bamboozle has developed a stylish way to store scraps. They are using a material called Astrik….it looks like plastic but is made from plants. That makes it a compostable compost bin. Find more at www.bamboozlehome.com.
