Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.   The new T-Satellite service being offered by T-Mobile that allows users to stay connected from pretty much anywhere, in many cases using the phones they already have, is really just the start.    The services uses Starlink connectivity.   T-Mobile VP of Consumer Group Marketing Alice Williams says they have seen many use cases during the beta testing… and emergencies have been a stand out…

“The first is individually, where you or I might be on a remote hike or on the side of a mountain face or broken down on the side of the road, T-Satellite has enabled dozens and counting of people in emergency situations to reach out and ask for help and get it.”

And in disaster situations, the new communication capabilities can be life saving as well.  Williams says they’ll get better over time .   So stay tuned.
