“What we really need to do is put guidelines in place and governance to try and regulate how these technologies are used. That’s not going to be easy to do and there are always going to be bad actors. And I should also say that it’s not just the deliberate misuse of the technology that we should be worried about, it’s the accidental misuse of the technology because humans tend to have a tendency to think they know more than they know.”
Which could lead to disaster. Should we be excited…or terrified? Dr. Woolfson says the answer is both.
