Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.       Using tech to help treat Parkinson’s.   Neuroscientist Mohammed Abouelsoud is the CEO of U The Mind, a company that has developed a non-invasive brain stimulation platform that it says is showing real clinical results.  It is working towards FDA clearance.   He says the improvements have been encouraging..

“So number one, hand tremors, resting tremor.  So when the patient’s at rest, they have a tremor,  we are targeting the specific fiber track in the basal ganglia that controls these resting tremor symptoms.  Number two,  gait abnormalities.  Gait means walking.  So when they walk slowly, when they turn around slowly, when they stand up slowly.  When they are walking and their foot stops, because it’s the same bundle of circuits.”
