Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.  I’m Fred Fishkin.     The First Alert brand at Resideo has come to be the most trusted fire safety brand in America….and with the company’s latest line up…it is aiming to simplify safety.   There are new wired and battery operated smoke and carbon monoxide combo alarms.   Senior Product Manager Aaron Raders..says the new alarms feature Precision Detection…

“So it’s a photo electric sensor that senses these different varieties of fires.  Whether it be smoldering fires from wood or plastic fires, things with polyethylene, polyurethane, things along those lines, without picking up the nuisance smoking alarms from kitchen activity.,”

That’s a big plus in my book as is the ability to replace batteries without having to take the alarm down from the ceiling.    There’s more info at FirstAlert.com.
