"We've had about 90 customers put us on alert or notify us that they have been affected by the disaster. Of those, 30 have actually declared disasters or moved in with SunGuard to re-establish their business."
SunGuard CEO Jim Simmons. Another firm scrambling to help companies recover critical data is Legato Systems. Support Services VP Doug O'Shaughnessy tells us he has had teams working around the clock since that attacks occurred... .but in some cases data recovery can only help so much...
"What's really happened here is these customers have had environments destroyed and very unfortunately, they've also lost a number of their IT staff. We had one customer that was particularly devastated. We're in fact in the process of allocating some IT people from our internal IT organization to fly out here and help them."
