We continue to have Speed Disk, which organizes your hard drive files efficiently. And Norton Disk Doctor works on repairing disk problems. And these types of things, while they might be less often necessary, continue to be necessary with any operating system functionality."
At the very least, every PC should have anti-virus software running. There are some marketing promotions out there offering Norton Anti-Virus for free, along with the purchase of the professional version of Windows XP.
