"The Replay 4000 is really the first networked video product for the home. It allows you to record things live off of television, it allows you to watch things later that you've recorded, but it also allows you to connect multiple Replay devices together in the home and have a networked system. So you can record something on the ReplayTV in your living room and watch it on the ReplayTV that's in your bedroom."

The company has taken a leadership position in the home networking of video and audio. And because the Replay 4000 allows owners to send and receive video files over the Internet... it is the target of lawsuits filed by the major TV networks and movie studios. At the moment... the suits seem like overkill. As Wolfe points out...
"If I were to try to take a movie and record it in high quality and send it to ten of my friends... it would take three months."
