"Over the years people have been gathering these VHS tapes. They filmed their kids years ago and what we're finding people are doing is taking those old VHS tapes which degrade over ten or fifteen years... they start to become de-magnetized and basically backing those up onto DVD. So with neoDVD, they're able to very simply plug their VCR into the PC through a capture card, press play on the VCR, press make disc on neoDVD, and we just copy whatever's on your VHS tape over onto a DVD. So you've backed up your memories. You've got them off an analog form and onto a digital format."
The neoDVD plus version of the software lets you create chapters and preview the video before you save it onto disc. It is not the best package available for adding effects and editing... but if your needs are simple, and you don't want to spend time learning, the software gets the job done.
