McAfee.com has just rolled out its next generation of Web-based security services... using a distributed grid to track threats and alert customers. And the company is making a free Security Center download available...

It tracks your PCs vulnerability to viruses, hackers and Web sites that invade your privacy. What the center is, in reality, is a sales tool for the McAfee.com solutions to those issues... .
"You know if someone came in and rattled your door knob three times a day, there is a very high probability that you would go buy a home alarm system. And it's very similar to that, we let you know when somebody's rattling your door knob."
