"It's interesting. About 90 percent of consumers are very satisfied with traditional photography. Digital photography is far lower than that because, A, it's too complex and B, it's hard to get your prints and that's what people want are prints."
Kodak introduced its Easy Share system a year ago, using a docking station to simplify the process of getting images into computers from the cameras. The new version with allow one touch printing... with the ability to make selections right from the newer camera models. The idea is to put the camera in its dock, press a button, and the photos are transferred and the ones you've selected are automatically printed on either your printer... or sent via the Internet to a photo processor...
"Either we as an industry solve the printing problem or digital will not reach its full potential. I'm convinced it can be done. I've said that from the beginning. It'll be done by a combination of manufacturers like Kodak with equipment and software to do it. It'll be solved by other competitors and by retailers who will want to make it easy to give consumers new ways and new reasons to come into their stores and get their digital business."
