"We're bundled with Palm, Handspring, Kyocera, Samsung and HandEra. So a lot of people when they install their Palm software don't really realize that Pocket Mirror is being installed. They say they want to synchronize with Microsoft Outlook, in the background, quietly, Pocket Mirror is installed."
Chapura chief operating officer Keith Ellenberg. The problem has been, not all of the information contained in Outlook, would fit in the Palm address book. Chapura is offering a new software solution... called Key Contacts...
"So we're supplying a new handheld application, a new handheld address book that synchronizes better with Outlook. So it has 40 more fields, it has 254 categories for Outlook synchronization instead of just 16. And it allows you to take any folder in Outlook and move it down to the handheld. In this way, the frustrations are gone for Outlook synchronization, people can take anything in Outlook that they want to take, carry it with them on the handheld. In fact, we built a better Outlook client for the handheld than Microsoft ships with the Pocket PC."
Not everyone needs the kind of detail Key Contacts lets you store and synchronize... .but if you're a Palm user who needs to track people with multiple email addresses and phone numbers and such... it's worth the 25 dollar price tag. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
